As Assistant Purchasing Manager, I will fully comprehend the vision of Six Senses to help people reconnect with themselves, others and the world around them and our values of local sensitivity and global sensibility, crafted experiences, emotional hospitality, responsible and caring, fun and quirky and pioneering wellness.
Sustainability, Wellness and Out of the Ordinary experiences are at the core of everything we do at Six Senses. I will safeguard these pillars and its strategic planning and development and ensure all directives, practices and initiatives are implemented, embraced, adopted within the hotel/resort.
Duties and Responsibilities
In this role, I will assume full responsibility for the efficient operation of the Purchasing function to provide exceptional product within brand operating standards across the preparation and processing of requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment, storage and stock takes. I will also regularly review suppliers and contracts to ensure conformity with Six Senses requirements.
By keeping abreast of industry trends and practices and continually updating my knowledge and skills, I will source and purchase the most suitable products for the operation that are relevant and in line with Six Senses policies plus wellness and sustainability practices.
Purchasing practices will meet the requirements of the Six Senses nutrition and sustainability platforms, while vendor and market assessment, ordering, stocktakes and storage will be undertaken at the required times to ensure all stock is on hand, is of the right quality and properly stored in line with Six Senses standards.
A high standard of personal appearance, grooming and hygiene, plus comprehensive knowledge of safety, security and emergency procedures will be maintained by myself and all hosts under my direction in line with brand and statutory requirements.
My constant interaction with and provision of support to and communication with other departments is essential to the smooth functioning of the operation. I will perform any additional duties given to me by the Purchasing Manager/Director of Finance.
Qualifications
To execute the position of Assistant Purchasing Manager , I must have the required qualifications, technical skills and experience in a similar role in luxury hotels with proven results and includes the following:
I have a minimum of a Diploma in Business/Purchasing and Supply and more than three years’ experience in a similar role.
I am a personally involved, visible and proactive manager with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. I possess a track record of proven results within the purchasing function.
From a people management perspective, I am a responsive, engaged and interactive manager, capable of building strong positive relationships with hosts that results in a shared vision of success for the operation.
Technical skills include advanced MS Office, Outlook platforms and Materials Control (MC), plus I have an excellent command of written and spoken English with a solid knowledge of the local language and customs.
I have an excellent command of written and spoken English, and I am able to live in a remote location for extended periods of time and travel on single status.
