Cennox is looking for a responsible Onsite Assistant Project Manager to work in the Philadelphia, PA area. Primary business is construction services for financial institutions and retail.
Position Summary:
For the Onsite Assistant Project Manager position, you must be well-versed in construction methodologies and procedures, able to perform carpentry services, coordinate on-site sub-contractors, and communicate with internal labor/staff to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have journeyman carpentry skills, an analytical mind, and great organizational skills. The goal will be to ensure all projects are constructed to plans and code and delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding budget. You will be an on-site representative with the potential to move to a managerial position within the company. This position does require work to be completed during non-business hours.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Conduct site surveys to determine the initial project plan with Project Manager.
Ensure all required materials, equipment, and inspections occur to support the project schedule.
Manage on site work and logistics of construction site.
Responsible for site safety. Ensure the overall jobsite is safe for workers and visitors as well as manage compliance with established company safety policies.
Ensure dust prevention measures are in place on the job site every day and inspect for dust and debris once work is done for the day.
Conduct on-site project meetings with subcontractors and construction trades lead personnel.
Manage subcontractors for work performed on-site.
Set an example in keeping the job site organized and clean, including meeting standards for waste disposal and environmental protection.
Work with the project teams to budget, forecast, and manage field personnel as well as management of labor, equipment, materials, tools, and other cost considerations.
Understand, review, and manage project plans, specifications, and manufacturer's data and execute project based upon said documentation.
Manage the overall project and 3 weeks look ahead schedules, including working in master schedules and updating it on a weekly basis.
Generate RFI's (Requests for Information) as required to ensure completeness of the project documents and identifying and clarifying any discrepancies.
Review submittals for compliance with project manual and plans, manufacturer's recommendations and code, or other standards applicable to the system.
Travel between multiple job sites and simultaneously manage workloads of individual projects.
Other duties could include:
Work with the project team to maintain relationships with owners, visitors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Assist with business development, bidding, proposals and obtaining new work.
Job Requirements:
· Construction Management / Project Management experience (2 years minimum)
· Onsite work to be completed during non-business hours, primarily nights and weekends
· Clean DMV/Background Check
· Reliable transportation and flexible work hours
· Comfortable reading and understanding blueprints and drawings
· Organizational and multi-tasking skills
· High level of attention to detail
· Experience with financial institution renovations and/or remodels preferred
· Demonstrated computer skills and knowledge of MS office products and e-mail
· High school diploma or equivalent
