Master's DegreeValid Colorado Principal LicensureThree year's successful teaching, successful leadership internship, atleast three years of successful elementary school administration andsupervisioPreferred:At least three years of elementary school teaching experience,CPI training (may be obtained upon hire)Spanish speakerJOB DESCRIPTIONSummary/ObjectiveThe assistant principal will be a member of the administrative team at theelementary school level. General responsibilities include directly supportingthe elementary school principal in the day-to-day management of all aspects ofoperating a comprehensive elementary school, including promoting theacademic achievement and educational well-being of each student.

Serves as the building administrator in the absence of theprincipal. Assists the principal with the overall administration of theschool. Supervises student conduct within the schools, overseesdisciplinary procedures and maintains records of any disciplinary action.Assists the principal with staff appraisal and evaluation. Assist theprincipal in the implementation of district curriculum. Work with principalto support the work of the MTSS team. Works with principal for after schoolactivities.Skilled in Communication, Assessments and CurriculumAssists with supervision at activities. Represents the building atdistrict-required meetings. Assists the principal and staff in theestablishment of budget priorities and makes appropriate recommendations tothe principal. Works with the principal in facilitating advisorycommittees, addressing committee needs and in compiling appropriate data,information or reports. Administers school procedures regarding attendanceand supervises preparation of necessary reports. Engages in community andfamily events. Demonstrates an ability to communicate well both orally and inwriting to various audiences, and has the potential or ability to leadgroups with a consensus approach. Serves as the School Assessment Coordinator.Familiar with Maintaining School FacilitiesResponsible for school and non-school use of facilities. Assists theprincipal in supervising activities held in the school facilities. Assistswith supervising after school programs.Performs other duties as assigned.
