  THE OPPORTUNITY

  This opportunity to join the Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons at the rank of either Assistant or Associate Professor is an exciting one. Columbia University Irving Medical Center, one of the nation's foremost academic health science centers works together with one of the nation's premier health systems, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital.

  KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  The Division of Pulmonology in the Department of Pediatrics is seeking an academic faculty member at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Pulmonology with specific expertise in sleep medicine and pulmonary diseases Sleep Lab.

  The position will be a full-time Columbia University faculty position with full fringe benefits. The individual must have the ability to advance medical knowledge and translate it into clinically relevant strategies for the diagnosis and treatment of sleep and pulmonary conditions. The individual will be joining an actively growing and expanding research and clinical operation covering a wide range of pulmonary disorders and research programs. Responsibilities will include patient care, active participation in resident and fellowship education, and participation in clinical and/or basic research. The ideal candidate will have prior leadership experience, should be able to develop niche clinical programs, and be knowledgeable in AASM lab accreditation requirements.

  COMPENSATION:

  Assistant Professor- $185k-205k or Associate Professor- $200k-225k

  PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  * Minimum degree requirement of MD or DO and must have or be able to obtain an active NYS Medical License;

  * Must be board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Pulmonology and Sleep Medicine;

  * Consistently strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with professionals in other disciplines;

  * The ability to create a high-energy results-oriented work environment that encourages colleagues and staff to value each other's contributions; and

  * The ability to share and celebrate success with colleagues and staff.
