About the Role:
The Assistant Manager supports the Employment Manager to ensure aknowledgeable and well-trained team. The Assistant Manager assists theteam with training, organization, communication, meetings, and tasks asthey arise. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Manger ofEmployment to develop high quality supports for those with developmentaldisabilities receiving supports through RMHS. In addition, they areresponsible for conducting interviews and being a key part of the hiringprocess for new employment, staff and onboarding.
Principal Responsibilities:
Identify important issues and topics from the Managers attention forfollow-up.
Facilitate internal and external meetings for staff, teams and communitystakeholders.
Provide field training to Direct Support Professionals related tosupport strategies and offers direct feedback consistently.
Develop and maintain staff schedules and assure that all individualshave appropriate supports.
Review staff documentation and data collection for accuracy, timeliness,and compliance.
Coordinate new hire training materials, orientation schedules, and fieldtraining.
Review and provide feedback on ISAs, Career Support Plans, job taskanalysis, employment documentation, and trouble shooting in the field.
Oversee all aspects of the Employment Team Mentoring program.
Ensure the Employment team is prepared and represented at the QualityService Review (audit).
Provide after hours on-call crisis coverage in rotation with other DSLeadership staff.
Become the liaison for Department of Disabilities, Aging and IndependentLiving and the Employment Manager, keeping the team informed aboutstatewide initiatives, trainings, and compliance needs.
Conduct interviews, hiring, and coordinating on-site new hire training.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in related field preferred; equivalent experience maybe considered.
Previous experience in developmental services preferred.
Previous leadership or management experience preferred.
Strong leadership skills (i.e., accountability, follow through, coachingtechniques, constructive feedback, multitaskingetc.).
Proficiency with computers, experience entering data into electronicmedical records (EMR) program.
Strong writing and organizational skills to receive and conveyinformation efficiently and effectively.
Flexibility, dependability, and ability to work independently.
Able to flex schedule as needed.
Must have a valid drivers license, reliable transportation with personalautomobile liability insurance coverage at or above the levels mandatedby the State of Vermont.
