About Facilities Maintenance Technician

  Position Summary

  The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine building maintenance tasks. Performance of building maintenance tasks in one or more fields (e.g., carpentry, electrical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, etc.). Performs general cleaning and other tasks as assigned.

  Job Responsibilities

  This position is essential for the facilities group in TX to be able to maintain compliance and an acceptable level of customer service to Headquarters bldg. and the Royal locations.

  Assist with patch and paint of offices and Lab interior walls as assigned.

  Assist with maintaining and monitoring all facilities, equipment and amenities.

  Assist with repair and maintaining onsite plumbing.

  Change of all filters for HVAC as required.

  Furniture moves, including office and employee relocations.

  Coordinate and manage facilities’ vendors.

  Change interior and exterior light bulbs at multiple site locations

  Perform as needed office set-ups including furniture assembly, carpet cleaning, hanging dry erase boards.

  Inspect and maintain outside property,

  Assist with company events including tours, EAC events, grand openings, inspections.

  Oversee Janitor Service with daily trash removal, restocking, cleaning restrooms, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning exterior entryway, etc.

  Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

  Required Qualifications

  High School Diploma or equivalent

  2-3 years of related maintenance experience

  Conditions of Employment: Individuals must successfully complete pre-employment process, which includes criminal background check, drug screening, and reference verification.

  Preferred Qualifications

  2-5 years of facility maintenance experience

  Associate degree or relevant training certificate

  Physical Demands

  Must possess ability to sit, stand, and/or work at a computer for long periods of time.

  May have exposure to blood-borne pathogens, extreme temperatures, high noise levels, fumes and bio-hazardous material/chemical including formalin in the lab environment.

  Visual acuity and analytical skill to distinguish fine detail. Ability to pass a visual color discrimination test.

  Must possess ability to perform repetitive motion.

  Ability to lift to 30 pounds.
