Summary
Directs activities for developing and implementing training curricula and progression plans for development of distribution planners. Responsible for leading/coordinating the technology initiatives within Distribution Planning. Implements processes and controls to ensure legal, regulatory, code, safety and standards compliance.
Key Roles & Responsibilities Directly or through others, the incumbent:
Collaborates with stakeholders to conduct training needs analysis and identify appropriate training solutions.
Leads and conducts the design, development, and delivery of training and development programs that comply with regulations, company policies, procedures, work rules and management expectations and include an appropriate variety of instructional methods, settings, and technologies.
Collaborates with stakeholders to assess and anticipate current and future tools, systems, and technology needs. This includes functional ownership of all distribution planning platforms, tools and systems.
Administers and monitors the performance of a work group including selection, performance appraisal, salary administration, and career development of employees in the work group.
Supports training of distribution planning engineers and interfaces with other organizations both internal and external to Oncor.

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements
Education – Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred
Experience – 5+ years utility industry experience
Certification – Texas Professional Engineering Registration preferred
Skill – Ability to effectively communicate and commit to a course of action that is consistent with all legal, regulatory, code, standard, or other requirements, as well as corporate policies and procedures
Skill – Ability to communicate complex subject matter to a variety of audiences
Skill – Ability to supervise, lead, motivate, and provide technical guidance to others
Skill – Project management, organizational management, leadership, problem solving and decision-making skills are essential

Delivery of timely and high-quality distribution planning information to clients/stakeholders
Compliance with all legal, regulatory, and safety requirements for information and actions related to distribution planning and distributed energy resources
Ability to direct others in an efficient and respectful manner
Ability to consistently meet deadlines, manage workload, and adjust to changes in scope, direction and priorities
Effective collaboration with partners such as the T&D Capability organization
