Description We are in search of an Assistant Finance Director to join our team located in Portsmouth, Virginia. The role encompasses a range of responsibilities within the finance department and requires a sound understanding of financial analysis and strategic operational advice. The successful candidate will be expected to lead the development of financial performance policies and oversee the organization's billing and revenue cycle.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in providing strategic, operational, and financial analysis for the finance department.

• Lead the development of organization-wide financial performance policies, processes, and controls.

• Provide oversight for the department of Patient Financial Services, including all functions of the organization’s billing and revenue cycle.

• Establish, implement, and evaluate internal systems to effectively meet operating goals and objectives.

• Develop and evaluate policies and procedures to effectively carry out departmental operations.

• Promote staff collaboration, innovation, and critical thinking in developing solutions and approaches to departmental issues.

• Manage accounting functions including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

• Oversee the auditing process and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

• Utilize accounting software systems to maintain accurate financial records.

• Supervise and mentor a team, contributing to staff development and ensuring adherence to human resources policies and procedures. Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is a must

• Strong knowledge of Accounting Functions is required

• Demonstrable experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) is essential

• Prior experience in Auditing is necessary

• Familiarity with Billing Functions is expected

• Proven skills in Supervisory Management are crucial

• A University Degree in Accounting is required
