This position reports to the Director of Freshman Recruitment. In addition, the Assistant Director of Minnesota Recruitment will work with the expanded leadership team leading the work of timely and consistent training and development of the freshman recruitment team. This is a full-time, P&A, exempt position (classification 9361AN, SS Manager 1-Admissions). This position includes an excellent benets package including medical/dental/vision/life/LTD insurance, 403(b) retirement plan, 22 paid time o days, one personal holiday in addition to the existing 11 University holidays. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Leadership and Supervision (30%) * Manage the day-to-day operations of Minnesota-focused recruitment eorts and Oce of Admissions managed outreach programs, including the supervision of admission counselors and admission associate counselors. * Oversee the implementation of Minnesota-focused recruitment eorts, including travel coordination, event planning and presentation development. * Work with appropriate Admissions and campus sta to coordinate training for sta members. * Member of the freshman admissions expanded leadership team. * Participate in the onboarding program for new counselors and freshman recruitment team members * Plan and execute ongoing training related to recruitment, application review, counseling and building relationships with students and families * In collaboration with the freshman recruitment leadership team, develop and lead training and education opportunities to advance the freshman recruitment team's diversity, equity, inclusion, and social justice (DEISJ) eorts. * Serve as manager on duty. * Support meeting coordination as necessary Direct Customer Service & Recruitment (25%) * Oversees the development and implementation of the Minnesota student recruitment plan in coordination with the Director of Recruitment * Serves as territory manager for targeted schools * Represents the U of M's Oce of Admissions at on and o-campus recruitment events. * Provides the highest level of extra-mile customer service to prospective students, their families, and school ocials. * Provides admissions counseling and information to students, families, and constituent groups * Enhances service to students, schools and constituent groups through the implementation of innovative programs and initiatives. * Ensures quality and eectiveness of recruitment eorts and program delivery through eective implementation and outcomes-monitoring * Participates in the development of eective and creative recruitment and outreach eorts * Serves as the recruitment lead for a variety of recruitment events such as, but not limited to, National College Fair, Fall for Minnesota, President's Day Strategic Partnership Management (20%) * Oversees the development, scheduling, and logistics of the High School Counselor Update Meetings * Participates in the review of High School Counselor communication campaigns, such as eUpdates, to support strong relationships with external stakeholders * Oversees the development, scheduling, and logistics of High School Advisory meetings hosted 2-3 times per year * Serves as member of the system campus admissions working group, liaise with system campus partners as needed * Liaise across the department and on campus Holistic Review Coordination - Freshman Unit (15%) * Evaluates prospective student and applicant credentials for the purposes of admission counseling and admission decision making. In addition, supervises this function and provides ongoing sta training. * Serves as the Freshman Counselor Review Coordinator, working with the Holistic Review unit * Coordinates scholarship, honors and school review annually Project Management & Execution (10%) * Manage, or participate in special or team projects. * Serve as committee member or leader as needed Salary range is $58,000 - $68,000 depending on qualifications. Work mode: This position will be hybrid. An applicant can expect to be in office 1-3 times per week depending on season. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree and a minimum six years of experience in admissions, student recruitment, customer service or other aspects of public relations or a master's degree plus at least four years of relevant experience. * Must have either a driver's license or consistent and reliable transportation to travel regionally in the Midwest. * Demonstrated commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in practice. * Must be able to travel regionally and nationally, sometimes overnight, for extended periods of time. * Ability to work evenings/weekends as needed. * Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills. * Excellent written and oral communication skills, including public speaking experience. * Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative. Preferred Qualifications: * Event planning or project management experience preferred. * Preference given to candidates with University of Minnesota experience dened broadly such as former student, graduate, employee, or community member of any campus. * Preference given to candidates with community based organization experience. * Preference given to candidates with University of Minnesota admissions experience.
