Assistant Controller - West Hartford (Permanent Opportunity)

Main duties:
AIA Billing: Manage the preparation and submission of AIA billing documents in accordance with project milestones and contractual agreements. Collaborate with project managers and subcontractors to ensure accurate and timely billing, including verifying work completed, reviewing contract terms, and processing payment applications.
Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing accurate and timely financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with the CFO in developing annual budgets and forecasts to support strategic planning and decision-making.
Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and provide insightful financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and risks.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring invoices are processed promptly and accurately, and collections are managed effectively.
Internal Controls: Assist in developing and implementing internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Audit Support: Coordinate with external auditors and provide necessary support during financial audits and reviews.
Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing tax filings and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements within the finance department.
Ad-hoc Projects: Support the CFO and finance team in various ad-hoc projects and initiatives as needed.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a construction company.
Experience with Sage is highly preferred.

Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in a construction company.
Experience with Sage is highly preferred.
