Description
We are seeking a self-starter with a demonstrated history of identifying issues and problem solving for this exciting Assistant Controller role. The Assistant Controller reports to the VP of Finance on accounting staff updates. This permanent (hybrid 3 days in office) employment opportunity is based in the Auburn Hills, Michigan area. What you get to do every single day
Facilitate to ensure a competent, trained staff through regular assessment, development, and goal setting
Name and create process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Accommodate the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Sophisticated preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Scan and conceive Ad Hoc financial reports
Backfill for Controller as necessary
Formulate relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like actual spend against budgets/outlook, key financial metrics, and the monthly flash report
Develop an assortment of policies, technical accounting analyses, and procedures
Alternative duties as requested
Make sure regular account reconciliation to completion
Back implementation and make sure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Manage the accounting team during the closing process to make sure deadlines are met
Drive accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Requirements
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
CPA Designation
Adeptness in SAP or similar
Expertise in manufacturing preferred
Experience with month end closings
Foundational knowledge in budget forecasting
Financial statement preparation experience
Skilled in analytical, quantitative and social skills
Ability to multitask efficiently and prioritize work
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
Accurate knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systemsStrong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
