  Key job responsibilities

  As the Assimilation Sr Program Manager (PM) in the GESS Launch organization, you will oversee programs and projects where business problems and/or program strategies may not be well-defined. The Assimilation Sr. Program Manager is expected to deliver independently with limited guidance. This role identifies business problems and creates program strategy in order to deliver scalable solutions. The Assimilation Sr. PM implements annual roadmaps that helps drive decision making across the team. The Assimilation Sr. PM refines program and team level objectives based on key performance indicators and drives process improvements through frugal resource management. The Assimilation Sr. PM seeks out and analyzes data to make decisions and solves ambiguous problems. The Assimilation Sr. PM continuously aligns the program strategy with organizational goals. As part of this role, the Assimilation Sr PM may oversee several or all sub-programs within the Assimilation Team.

  In this role, you will:

  • Hire and Develop the Best by managing group of individual contributors and/or people leaders and support with barriers/escalations, while ensuring team meets defined deliverables and goals

  • Develop and define metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that support team and program level performance and quality goals

  • Participate and support hiring needs for the team

  • Dive Deep and identify gaps in standard documents and work with teams and individuals to update to benchmark processes and best practices

  • Insist on highest standards of team by providing feedback and monitoring performance against team standards for members of the team

  • Manage a multi-million-dollar budget. Is expected to deep dive the data and understand inputs needed

  • Lead regular team and 1:1 meetings, fostering environment of high standards, innovation and consistent drive to exceed customer expectations

  • Earn Trust and build partnerships with stakeholders and customers such as Launch Learning, Operations, Launch Sr. Managers and Launch Managers to coordinate, maintain, and update plans

  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders and communicate established plans and report on execution to various stakeholders, while simultaneously continuously improving the planning and execution cycle

  • Develop and maintain standard working relationships with all supporting business functions to increase synergies and foster open communication

  • Develop projects to improve efficiency, decrease cost and maximize effectiveness of the Assimilation programs

  • Develop standard work for new programs and initiatives

  • Other duties as assigned

  A day in the life

  The day-to-day include:

  • Directing, supporting, and coaching a diverse team within a remote environment that emphasizes continuous improvement, collaboration, and high performance

  • Analyzing large-scale data in order to track program metrics effectively and communicate data findings clearly and succinctly

  • Evaluating program initiatives, and developing network-level plans focused on maintaining high standards in quality, impact, and scalability

  • Conducting post-launch evaluations to understand successes and improvement opportunities for year-over-year strategies

  • Implementing and managing changes to ensure program level objectives are achieved, and supporting the strategic direction of the Launch team and Amazon as a whole

  • Ensuring goals and KPIs are met in areas including customer satisfaction, safety, quality, standard work and team member performance.

  • Earning Trust with stakeholders within ambiguous situations by creating structure and standards in an ever-changing environment

  • Deep Diving into processes, understanding capabilities and limitations, and making critical judgement decisions about how to handle stakeholder requests

  • Maintaining high proficiency and efficacy in core program management skills such as negotiating across diverse teams of varying disciplines and implementing mechanisms to scale repeatable processes

  • Managing staffing, project assignments, and resource allocations across the team

  • Driving reporting by managing the collection, analysis, and summarization of data and trends to develop recommendations for improvement

  • Managing direct reports through 1:1s and leveraging available developmental tools

  About the team

  The Team: The Assimilation Team is a support team within the GESS Launch Team that supports new launch sites Short-Term Assignments (STA), Away Teams (AT) and Labor Shares (LS) by planning and executing the logistics for new and existing buildings across the Amazon network. The Assimilation Team serves as a liaison by providing support to our customers, upholding standards to deliver consistently and effectively, ensuring all the teams have the resources needed to be successful.

  Basic Qualifications

  2+ years of team management experience

  3+ years of program or project management experience

  Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or 2+ years' Amazon experience

  2+ years’ experience with Excel Skill Competency (Including, but not limited to SUM, IF, VLOOKUP, COUNT, MID)

  Experience in financial planning cycles and deep diving budgets to ensure accuracy

  2+ years of Customer Service experience

  Experience with roadmap planning, performance metrics, process improvement, and lean techniques

  1+ years’ experience with leading and coordinating program level initiatives to successful delivery with regional/network impact

  1+ years’ experience with writing effective business narratives and constructive communication to peers and senior leadership teams

  1+ years’ experience working cross functionally with a diverse group of stakeholders and teams

  Preferred Qualifications

  Experience in working independently and autonomously by taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

  2+ years’ experience managing a team of virtual individual contributors

  Experience exercising written, verbal, and quantitative skills

  Strong communication (verbal and written) and an ability to effectively partner with business stakeholders at all levels

  Global perspective and solid understanding of business objectives

  Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and exceptional organizational skills

  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where continuous innovation and process implementation/improvement is desired

  Proven ability to work productively and efficiently in an independent setting even in ambiguous settings

  Experience with change management and continuous improvement processes

  Experience in generating new Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics for a team or process and driving improvements through reporting and goal setting
