Description
We are looking for an experienced embedded firmware engineer who enjoys solving challenging problems to develop firmware for IOT devices. The successful applicant will play a key role in designing and building the firmware for Ring's devices and will work closely with multi-functional engineering teams. The Embedded Firmware Engineer will gain a deep understanding of the system requirements, design, develop, build, and test firmware components of the system.
Highly motivated with demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Low-level software development experience (Micro controller, Sensors drivers, Safety handlers)
Fundamental knowledge of low-level firmware.
Experience using Revision Control and Bug Tracking Tools
Experience implementing Agile/Scrum software development cycles
Excellent resourcefulness and debugging skills
Strong Embedded C and C++ skills, Knowledge of Java is a plus
Excellent communication skills (Written and Speaking)
Key job responsibilities
The individual will work on a team of exceptional FW engineers developing FW for Ring's devices. This includes research new technologies, document software requirements, development new designs, implement and verify software features.

Basic Qualifications
4+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
Preferred Qualifications
3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
