  Position Summary:

  The Assessment and Evaluation Manager manages multifaceted activities and processes associated with the development, implementation, and quality improvement of the program for the Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine’s ( HCOM ) Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine curriculum across all three campuses (1000 medical students) to ensure compliance with the national Commission of Osteopathic College Accreditation ( COCA ) Standards for curriculum. As a member of the Office of Medical Education, the Assessment and Evaluation Managers will assess and/or complete evaluation management of students; provide assessment day support; manage the official student grades and manage assessment and evaluation of the HCOM curriculum. This position will complete multiple, complex tasks on different deadlines, typically requiring significant cross-training and education/experience and will demonstrate the flexibility to effectively step into ongoing processes to provide unit coverage and timely task completion. This position works closely with a team to process and assess course and curricular materials across the four-year program for medical school curriculum (160 courses and more than 150 internal and clinically affiliated faculty). The Assessment and Evaluation Managers work closely with other Office of Medical Education ( OME ) team members, including supervising others in OME in their work, HCOM staff, faculty and students in a team-oriented, mission-focused and inclusive manner to ensure appropriate curricular delivery and proper assessments.

  PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES :

  Management of Assessment and Evaluation in Pathways to Health and Wellness Curriculum ( PHWC )

  Manages curriculum assessment processes and resource delivery ensuring the accreditation standards are met for Ohio University and the Heritage College by performing the following primary accountabilities:

  Oversees assessment question banks and assessment instruments for designated courses, including faculty edits to assessment items, posting assessments, communication with proctors, OMET team and students with approved accommodations prior to assessments across the four-year curriculum. Responsible for providing recommendations and implementing process improvements related to assessments in the Pathways to Health and Wellness Curriculum ( PHWC ).

  Responsible for managing local campus assessment proctor coverage including management of others and organization of instructional and assessment instruments and materials. Serves as point of contact for students and faculty based on campus and course. Contributes to the generation and monitoring of policies and procedures in compliance with college, university, and accreditor expectations.

  Maintains official gradebooks to ensure accuracy and completion of grading, completes official edits and posting to the gradebook, including ensuring completion of required evaluations. This includes communication with the faculty Curriculum Directors to ensure accuracy of the medical student records.

  Administers evaluations including appropriate scheduling and reporting of faculty, course and medical student evaluations and communicating results to appropriate faculty. Responsibilities may include supervision of others work in evaluative processes as well as expectation of providing and implementation of process improvements for evaluations.

  Compiles and reports necessary information related to assessments and evaluation of students and curriculum.

  May guide and direct work of others in these processes.

  Activity and Program Support

  Works within the designated course team with the Course Director and Curriculum Manger to ensure support for a variety of campus assessment and curriculum activities and assists/directs team members in support of student programing (occasionally including off-hours events, (e.g., Clinical Training and Assessment, new student orientation and special events).Minimum Qualifications:

  Bachelors degree

  Candidates with 5+ years relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree

  1+ Years work experience

  Preferred Qualifications:

  Bachelors Degree in Education, Management, Administration or Assessment

  Master’s Degree

  Advertised Salary:

  The approved hiring range for this position is $40,296 to $45,837. Offers outside of this range of subject to additional approvals. The final offer will be commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience in relation to the minimum qualifications for the position.
