Aerotek is seeking a skilled Assembly Technician to join our team, working on the construction of large gloveboxes from blueprints. This role requires the use of hand and power tools, and a strong understanding of torque, flanges, and specifications. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working at heights, as tasks may involve being harnessed up to two stories high. You will be integral to the production process, working from the start to the end of the assembly, engaging in a variety of tasks rather than repetitive bench or piece work. A commitment to cross-training in different production areas is also essential.
Main Job Duties:
Follow blueprints to build and assemble large gloveboxes.
Use hand and power tools.
Perform medium to complex heavy assembly tasks under the guidance of Assembly Team Lead or Engineering.
Confer with Production, Project Management and Engineering to solve manufacturing problems and improve processes.
Audits kits to ensure accuracy of materials and works with team lead on discrepancies.
Stage kits and incoming processed materials in a safe and organized manner.
Perform load tests per work instructions with direction from Team Lead or Engineering.
Perform general clean up on a periodic basis.
Qualifications :
Must have 10-15 years of experience in mechanical assembly
Ability to read blueprints is a must.
Knowledge of and proficiency at using a variety of hand tools.
Familiar with most common materials of construction.
Must be able to work at heights - will be harnessed at work at maximum 2 stories' height
Familiarity with torques, flanges, and specs.
Mechanical inclination and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work effectively in a small team and contribute to a positive culture.
Strong communication skills to liaise with Production, Project Management, and Engineering teams.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Preferred candidates will have 10-15 years of assembly experience, particularly in a role that spans the entire assembly process from start to finish. Applicants should be prepared to perform under the guidance of an Assembly Team Lead or Engineering and have a proactive approach to solving manufacturing problems and improving processes.
Shift:
1st shift schedule: Monday - Thursday from 6am to 3:30pm, and Friday from 6am to 10am. Y
