Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, an Assembly Process Inspector shall be able to perform any and all types of inspections using necessary equipment to perform those inspections. The Assembly Process Inspector will be responsible for ensuring that assembled product is compliant with design requirements.
Requirements
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Accurately and effectively inspect assembled parts using best practices, inspection plans and tools commensurate with abilities
Accurately and effectively review processing vendor certifications and product to verify compliance to Royell purchase order and work order; conducting the necessary measurements to establish compliance to drawing for thicknesses and masked features.
Accurately and effectively use CATIA / ENOVIA to extract measureable features to inspect product where no drawing exists.
Accurately and effectively inspect assemblies and sub-assemblies using multiple process tip sheets to cover a variety of assembly processes.
Accurately and effectively inspect assemblies and subassemblies using customer drawings and specifications to establish compliance.
Maintain the integrity of the inspection queue system. Working on carts in a first in - first out order ensuring that carts are processed within the 3-day allotted queue time.
Ensure traceability of all product through review for completion or work sequences, material issues and product counts.
Accurately complete necessary departmental documentation, such as:
First Article Inspection Reports
Red tags / Blue tags
Manufacturing Work Order
Inspection Finding Sheets
Accurately enter necessary departmental information into dedicated computer systems, such as:
Rejection tags
INSP.Q (Inspection Queue system in Proman MRP)
Filling digital documents in archive folders o Upload FAIR's in Net-inspect
Communicate, in a timely manner, part status (good / reject / exact problems) with internal personnel, vendors and customers.
Maintain the integrity of the shelf life tracking system.
Maintain clean / organized work area.
Maintain confidentiality of company records
Accurately and effectively communicate shift tie-in information, inspection status, and first part queuing with incoming inspection personnel.
Effectively and in a timely manner, support company goals, and embrace new and revised company system elements and willing use them as intended.
Create part specific inspection plans effectively and in a timely manner.
Other related duties, as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Use all inspection equipment commensurate to the duties listed above.
Effectively read and interpret part drawings to the extent necessary to perform duties listed above.
Effectively read and interpret process specifications to the extent necessary to perform the duties listed above.
Demonstrate understanding of the requirements and interpretation of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing to be able to perform the duties listed above. Satisfactory demonstration includes finding and understanding the interpretations within the Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standard, ANSI/AMSE Y 14.5.
Demonstrate good problem-solving capabilities.
Minimum Qualifications
Must have high school diploma or equivalent GED certification of completion.
Minimum of 2 years' of job experience with precision machined part assemblies or equivalent demonstrated proficiency.
Desirable Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to think analytically.
Minimum 1 year experience with aerospace product drawings and specifications.
Training in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing, as evidenced by a completion certificate.
Experience implementing lean manufacturing, blueprint reading, and aerospace production
Working Hours:
Monday - Friday 5:00am -1:30pm
