The Asphalt Plant Foreperson directs and leads all on-site workers, subcontractors and equipment, implementing the company’s policies, procedures and safety standards, while meeting production schedules. This position is a working foreperson and is expected to work alongside the crew that they are leading.
Main Responsibilities:
Lead the activities of the asphalt plants: organize and coordinate the daily activities of all crew members, subcontractors, and equipment. Review production schedules and ensure that objectives are met.
Represent the company professionally:maintain good business relationships with customers and suppliers; ensure all customers are handled in a professional manner.
Communicate effectively with administrators, staff, vendors, local residents, and customers; keep key people informed.
Ensure the maintenance of plant equipment: visually inspect equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair. Assist with general housekeeping and plant maintenance, including: repair and replacement of valves, motors, bearings, gaskets, shafts, gauges, etcetera; climb tank ladders to read gauges and/or perform maintenance tasks. Order spare parts, prioritize emergencies, ensure that scheduled and unscheduled maintenance are completed in a safe and cost-effective manner.
Maintain health, safety, and environmental records in compliance with company, state and federal guidelines.
Safety: promote, implement, and adhere to the companyâs safety programs; encourage all employees, customers, vendors, sub-contractors, and consultants to adopt safety as an integral component of regular duties. Additionally, prepare and submit any incident reports in a timely manner.
Maintain and monitor incoming and outgoing inventories; ensure adequate material and supplies are on-hand to meet plant production goals.
Position Requirements:
2+ years of demonstrated supervisory experience.
Strong mechanical background
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Able to maintain flexible hours.
A current, valid driver’s license with an acceptable MVR
Compensation:
$ 30.00 per hour
