Job Title: Asphalt Laborer

Job Description

Responsible for the preparation of the worksite for the application of asphalt. Understand and execute paving procedures while following instructions to meet the specifications of the project. Assist in the pouring, smoothing, and setting of asphalt on pathways and parking lots.

Hard Skills

Minimum 1 season of experience on a paving crew

OSHA 10 certification

Soft Skills

Willingness to work long hours and overtime

Flexibility with work hours

Ability to work in heat

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Solvay, New York.

Work Environment

Crew sizes range from 2-3 people to over 10 depending on the project. Candidates will report to the project foreman. Work hours start at 7:00 am and finish at 3:30 pm, with flexibility required for occasional overnight shifts and common overtime during the busy season (10-15+ hours per week). Work is conducted 100% outdoors in conditions such as large parking lots and non-highway roads, typically in hot and sunny weather.
