Summary
This role promotes and sells Agribusiness manufactured and purchased products that are sold into various Wholesale customer segments through direct customer contacts across multiple geographic regions.These segments/ customers include Ag Fertilizer, Industrial Chemicals, Animal Feed and Silica Sand.
Cultivates prospective customers and develops new accounts. Analyzes industry trends and identifies new product opportunities as well as alternative uses for existing product to maximize profitability for Simplot.
Key Responsibilities
Researches, analyzes, and provides thorough reports on competitors' products and sales practices throughout the various Agribusiness Wholesale industry segments. Develops a variety of alternatives to react to evolving marketplaces.
Works across multiple geographic territories optimize customer and product mix to existing and new customers. Both end users and distribution/retailers. Manages highly complex sales accounts and transactions.
Works independently to develop new sales accounts and identify new product opportunities across multiple geographic territories and execute plans to optimize business with existing and new customers. Recommends innovative, alternative uses for existing products.
Using a consultative approach, communicate the selling benefits of the Simplot product line in addition to the sale of products to ensure that customers are provided with the product knowledge they need to be successful.
Establish, develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, customers and team members. Accurately forecasts and works directly with S&OP, Transportation & supply chain to ensure right product in the right place at the right time.
May include “key product” Product Management responsibilities.
Typical Education
Bachelor's Degree (B.A. or B.S.) from 4 year college or university
Relevant Experience
10+ years related experience and/or training
Sales experience with Fertilizer, Chemical Products, Animal Feed products preferred

Incumbents at this level typically possess a comprehensive knowledge of the company, its customers, its products and their uses. There is a strong understanding of their market segments & general understanding of all wholesale market segments which allows for effective strategic feedback to mgmt. Individuals at this level have, within general parameters, pricing authority and substantial input into personal and SBU goals and objectives.
