  About Walmart Transportation

  The Area Manager - Traffic is is a crucial role that leads and motivates our amazing group of Associates and is responsible for managing the transportation of goods and materials in and out of a warehouse or distribution center. This includes overseeing the scheduling of deliveries, coordinating with carriers and suppliers, and ensuring that shipments are delivered on time and in good condition. They also monitor inventory levels and work to optimize transportation costs and efficiency. Additionally, they may supervise and train team members, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and manage budgets and expenses related to transportation

  What you'll do:

  Be responsible for effectively communicating with individuals or groups both verbally and in writing, such as customers, suppliers, and associates.

  Responsible for implementing the business plan for your area of responsibility, Effectively communicating goals and managing staffing and scheduling, Assigning duties, and coordinating workloads to achieve facility goals such as production, quality, and safety.

  Monitor and Manage the productivity of your area of responsibility by preparing, reviewing, and analyzing business reports.

  Maintain quality and safety standards in your area of responsibility by ensuring that associates are trained on logistics and company policies, standards, and procedures, and monitoring their compliance.

  Identify associate, customer, and/or supplier concerns and take corrective action or make recommendations to resolve them.

  Develop and lead associates and leaders in your area of responsibility by assigning duties, coordinating workloads, monitoring performance, and providing feedback.

  Teach, support, and model logistics and company policies and procedures, identify training and development needs, and participate in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and evaluation of associates and leaders.

  Facilitate carrier operations by processing and monitoring carrier claims, working with carriers and home office on claim resolution, scheduling carrier unloads, and resolving concerns to maximize benefits to the operation of the facility and carrier needs.

  Manage the processing of shipload, purchase orders, inbound containers, and claims by monitoring all activities, conducting problem research, and ensuring that all freight is processed correctly.

  What you'll bring:

  1+ years of experience in logistics/transportation.

  Management experience in transportation/logistics.

  Experience in data analytics, data mining, quality scorecards, and providing insights out of analysis.

  Minimum Qualifications...

  Associates' Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and 1 year supervisory experience OR Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year Walmart Logistics Management experience OR 2 years Walmart Logistics experience OR 2 years supervisory experience.

  Associates will be required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (for example, Academy trainings, Open Door trainings, etc.).
