This position provides assurance to the Area Manager/ManagingPrincipal/Regional Operations Director and Regional/Assistant RegionalAccounting Directors (RAD/ARADs) that practices and procedures are beingfollowed in accordance with HDR policies, HDR accounting principles, andfederal government compliance standards. In addition to an individual thatpossesses analytical skills, this individual must also possess leadershipand management skills necessary to effectively orchestrate accounting staff inthe performance of various project-financial functions. The primaryresponsibilities of this position will be leadership and support for allfacets of project and contract financial management, as well as, ensuringgeneral accounting functions maintained for the Area.Routine/Ongoing Monthly Responsibilities:InvoicingEnsure PAs meet invoice deadlines, and balancing their workload as neededUnderstand monthly invoice cycle and look for process improvements to increaseefficienciesRevenue ReviewFacilitate Business Group/PA/Project Coordinator preparation for monthlywatchlist meetingsEnsure meaningful notes maintainedFollow-up and track action items set during watchlist reviewRolling 12/ForecastBuild file or drive process to build file, review with AM/MP/BGManagers, coordinate with Marketing to clean up opportunity dataReview and coordinate AR tracking and ensure updated and meaningful notes arein the systemMonthly OH/GL AnalysisReview OHs for accuracy and correct codingResearch, monitor, & escalate potential issues & explanations forvariances to AM/RAD/ARADReview & Track Seminars, Training, and Conference CostsReview & Track Indirect Labor costsReview Cost RecoveryIdentify and understand Area Management financial & other reporting needsand take initiative to provide solutions:Area Management Reporting Needs, which may include, but not limited to:Loaned and Borrowed - BI reportsUtilization reportsArea marketing reporting needsAR reportsMSPLMarketing/proposal requests for dataBuild/maintain rate sheets for clientsEnsure best practices & guidelines in accordance with project accountingportal are followedUtilize BI projects dashboard for ongoing project financial reviews anddiscussions with PMsProject accounting for very large/complex projectsThis would be the exception, but may need to step in or assist in anyabnormal projectsEnsure project closeout process being followed and closeouts done timelyElevate and communicate potential issues to Area operations management andRAD/ARADSpecial Projects as requested by AM/MP/RAD/ARADEnsure Project Accounting (PA) Functions Maintained for Area:Managing PA teams, which includes performance reviews, timesheetapprovals, & other supervisor activitiesWorkload BalancingMonitor Monthly DeadlinesPushing efficiencies in processes/standardization of processesIntegrate Engineering/Architecture teams, if in combined office locat onsTraining/Cross-TrainingBackfilling in case of staffing issues at PA levelEnsure General Accounting Functions Maintained for Area:Manage Department Accounting/Accounting Assistant team responsible for thefollowing:Perform Accounts Payable functions relative to HDR accounts payableprocedures, including:Processing...
