NewGround, a world-class design and build firm headquartered in St. Louis and with offices across North America, is looking for an Architectural Specialist II in our St. Louis studio that will assist in the preparation of architectural construction documents for our commercial, retail and hospitality projects. The Architectural Specialist II will also coordinate activities including the work of mechanical, electrical and interior departments as well as outsource consultants such as structural, civil, etc.
Responsibilities:
Prepare working drawings
Coordinate with the Design Architect on the design of the project.
Participate in client design meetings
Prepare clarification of project development documents
Coordinate with local project AHJ's
Assist in preparation of Contract Change Orders
Assist checking shop drawings
Make field trips as necessary to verify information
Coordinate with engineering and specifications
Assist in the preparation in specifications
Be knowledgeable on application of building regulations to projects
Function as detailer to the extent necessary to complete projects on schedule and within budget
Perform all other related work, as assigned or as apparent
Skills:
Thorough knowledge of building codes
Strong organization and communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications (MS Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Proficient in Revit and AutoCad
Proficient with at least two years of experience with Revit
Proficiency in Speclink preferred
Proficiency in Procore
Expectations:
Travel as required (up to 25%)
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Passion for construction documents and detailing a building, preferably, multi-story
Prerequisites:
Bachelor's degree in Architecture or related field required
3-7 years of professional experience in Architecture required
2+ years of experience with Revit, not just classroom training
Architectural License preferred
LEED accreditation preferred
