　　CPAC currently seeks energetic, responsible, and talented individuals who wish to continue to develop AWESOME leadership skills as a Squad Leader for the summer of 2024! Squad Leaders promote excellent customer service and oversee their squad and designated facility operations with a focus on CPAC's number one objective.... SAFETY!

　　Key Responsibilities

　　As a Squad Leader you will directly monitor the daily performance of a squad of lifeguards and assigned team leaders, and inform the manager-on-duty of any staff concerns, disciplinary matters, and patron or facility issues that arise.

　　Squad Leaders understand and effectively teach safety, rescue, and first aid protocols to lifeguards as outlined in the training curriculum; actively supervise the activity of his/her assigned pool and surrounding deck; collaborate with the manager-on-duty to lead his/her squad's pre-shift and evening in-service trainings; verify the daily hours as well as calculate the running total of hours worked by staff each week; Squad leaders also meet weekly with Team Leaders to review feedback communicated through daily shift-notes, as well as ensure each lifeguard team is performing all skills and duties as expected.

　　Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills

　　A high school diploma is required for this position; completion of some college coursework is preferred.

　　Squad Leaders must be at least 18 years of age and have been an effective CPAC Team Leader (TL). Squad Leaders are required to attend and complete all necessary pre-season and in service trainings and meetings.

　　In addition, a Squad Leader must successfully earn a StarGuard Elite (SGE) Lifeguard Instructor Star-1 Certification by completing land and water training/test out sessions (if not already acquired), hosted by the Village of Orland Park Recreation & Parks Department. StarGuard Elite (SGE) Lifeguard Instructor Star-1 Certification is required by opening day.
