　　Responsibilities

　　As an APRN or PA with Ascension Seton Neurosurgery, you will evaluate emergency department patients, manage admitted neurosurgical patients in a hospital setting, see patients in outpatient clinic, and assist in neurosurgical cases in the operating room. You will be based out of Ascension Seton Medical Center Austin.

　　Acute Care Certification is preferred for all NP applicants at the time of application

　　APRN-First Assist Certification preferred and required to obtain within one year of start date

　　Responsibilities:

　　Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.

　　Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.

　　Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.

　　Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

　　Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing

　　BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)

　　Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration

　　Education:

　　Master's degree of Nursing requiredPhysician Assistant

　　Required Credential(s):

　　BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 Months (90days) of hire date or job transfer date

　　Licensed Physician Assistant credentialed from the Texas Medical Board

　　Certified Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of PhysicianAssistants (NCCPA)

　　Preferred Credential(s):

　　Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA)Education:

　　Work Experience for both APRN and PA:

　　2 plus years of experience in the field of neurosurgery is strongly preferred, but willing to train the right candidate

　　2 plus years of first assist in the OR is strongly preferred, but willing to train the right candidate
