EDUCATION/EXPERIENCERequired:
High school diploma or GED
Valid Colorado driver s license
First Aid/CPR within six months
Asbestos Operations & Maintenance Certification within six months
Mold Awareness Certification within six months
Requires at least two years of verifiable painting and drywall experience
JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective: This position requires apprentice-level knowledge ofpaint, drywall, texture, plaster, finishes, building maintenancematerials, and practices.
Essential Functions:
Prepares a wide variety of surfaces for painting, staining, or sealing.
Prepares and applies tape, texture, and protective coatings or sealants tobuildings, fixtures, and equipment.
Installs and repairs plaster and drywall.
Repairs or replaces various floor and wall finishes.
Knowledge of mixing paints, stains, and varnishes.
Ability to interpret plans.
Ability to work with suppliers.
Maintains accurate records of installations, repairs, materials used,and time spent on projects using the district s computerized work order system.
Willingness to carry an on-call phone, be on call, and/or respond tocalls 24/7.
Additional Qualifications: Knowledge of the methods, materials, tools,and practices of the painter trade and building maintenance and repair.Ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions. Ability todeal tactfully with the public and staff. Ability to respond under pressure toimmediate situations while maintaining courteous and professionalrelationships with staff members and the public. Ability to perform work witha high degree of accuracy. Ability to use good judgment and common sense.Ability to follow established safety practices. Ability to work independentlyand with others. Ability to read and interpret plans (blueprints).Excellent math skills.
Other Duties:
Drives various fleet vehicles daily.
Maintains assigned assets, vehicles, and tools.
Welds objects as necessary.
Inspects work performed by contractors for proper installation procedures andmaterials.
May participate in asbestos removal with proper training.
May be required to work any hours or any shift.
Removes snow and responds to emergencies.
Knowledge and skills sufficient to perform all duties of the position.
