　　Applied Scientist Responsibilities:

　　Design core, backend software components, and code using primarily C/C++, Java, and PHP.

　　Leverage knowledge of machine learning, data regression, and rules based models to develop highly scalable classifiers and tools.

　　Interface with other teams to incorporate their innovations and vice versa.

　　Conduct design and code reviews, and analyze and improve efficiency, scalability, and stability of various system resources.

　　Test programs and code libraries for errors and provide technical support to fix faulty lines of computer codes.

　　Analyze user needs and software requirements to develop software solutions.

　　Work closely with engineering teams to suggest, collect, and synthesize requirements and create effective feature roadmaps.

　　Data mining on large, complex data sets.

　　Update and expand existing applications and software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, and improve its performance.

　　Design and customize software applications with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.

　　Develop novel, accurate AI algorithms and advanced systems for large scale applications, as well as define use cases and develop methodology and benchmarks to evaluate different approaches.

　　Collaborate with Research Scientists to facilitate research that enables learning the semantics of data (images, video, text, audio, and other modalities).

　　Research, design and develop new algorithms and techniques to improve the efficiency and performance of Meta’s platforms.

　　Apply knowledge of relevant research domains along with expert coding skills to platform and framework development projects.

　　Minimum Qualifications:

　　Minimum Qualifications:

　　Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field and three years of work experience in job offered or a computer-related occupation. Requires three years of experience in the following:

　　Building large-scale server applications

　　Developing and debugging in C/C++ or Java/C#

　　Perl, PHP, or Python

　　Working with software operating system internals, file systems, programming language design, and compliers to complete machine learning-related coding projects

　　Deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch

　　Speech Recognition or other Signal Processing expertise

　　Large scale distributed training for machine learning models

　　Training and optimization of deeplearning models

　　Databases such as SQL and NoSQL

　　Data processing pipelines for speech recognition or similar signal processing problems

　　Optimizing and maintaining training infrastructure for deeplearning tasks such as speech recognition

　　Expertise with implementing and optimizing decoding modules for speech recognitions engines or similar signal processing tasks

　　Expertise on Kaldi toolkit for speech recognition or similar signal processing tasks.
