Where you’ll work:

This is a hybrid onsite/remote opportunity where you will report to the customer location in Falls Church, VA and have the flexibility to work from home based on business needs.

An average day:

As Application Software Developer I you will contribute to the development and maintenance of new and existing enterprise software applications that support a federal program. This position focuses on assisting cross-functional teams by applying fundamental coding and problem-solving skills, and participating in efforts that further the organization’s technical mission objectives. In this position you will:

Implement defined features and functionality across enterprise software applications under direct mentorship and guidance.

Collaborate with senior developers and other team members to troubleshoot issues and refine application performance.

Participate in the code peer review process to ensure best practices and coding standards are maintained in all packages as they are promoted through each environment.

Participate in basic software design discussions and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.

Write, test, and maintain code for new or existing systems, ensuring adherence to project requirements and best practices.

Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD development pipelines to streamline software delivery processes.

Support security initiatives by applying secure coding standards using DevSecOps principles and performing routine code reviews under supervision.

Contribute to knowledge sharing and documentation, including user guides and technical references.

Carry out operational tasks to enhance efficiency and maintain stability, such as logging, monitoring, and alerting.

Aid in integrating third-party solutions, APIs, or microservices within existing platforms.

Participate in automated unit and integration testing activities to ensure quality and reliability of deliverables.

Basic Qualifications:

As a requirement of this position, all candidates must be a U.S. Citizen. In accordance with 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(2)(C) , Epsilon will not consider candidates for this position who do not meet the aforementioned conditions.

1 year of software development experience in a professional or similar setting, or similar relevant experience

DOD 8570 IAT Level II Certification may be required (GSEC, GICSP, CND, CySA+, Security+ CE, SSCP or CCNA-Security).

Familiarity with one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C#) and associated frameworks.

Basic understanding of version control tools (e.g., Git) and branching strategies.

Exposure to relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and basic SQL queries.

Foundational knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies for collaborative development.

Ability to write simple automated tests and follow testing frameworks.

Willingness to learn and adapt to emerging technologies and tools.

Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and debug code.

Awareness of security best practices and compliance requirements.

One or more of the following certifications are desired: AWS Certified Developer, Databricks, Agile/Scrum, Python Programmer

Other:

Must hold an Active DOD Secret, Top Secret or TS/SCI Clearance

Must be located within a two (2) hour commute of the physical work location
