Position Summary
We are currently looking for an Application Engineer to work remotely or a hybrid schedule out of one of our offices. In this role, you will be responsible for developing the design of and proposals for water, wastewater, and vapor treatment solutions for industrial applications. The successful candidate will engage with multiple stakeholders within a matrix organization to ensure proper path forward and review of system designs, costing, and initial execution plan. Efforts will be focused primarily on temporary and mobile solutions, interacting with teams across the US and Canada. This position requires the employee to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously, while working with different teams for each.

Core Responsibilities and Tasks
Work with the sales team to clearly identify customers needs and assist in development of technical solutions
Interpret technical specifications and bid documents
Develop cost-effective process solutions to meet customers' need
Prepare mass balances and system performance projections
With the assistance of drafters prepare Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and other drawings
Engage with construction planners to develop preliminary General Arrangements (GAs) for equipment layouts
Work with cost estimating and field operations to prepare detailed cost estimates, and facilitate project pricing
Develop technical proposals, including process descriptions, scopes of work, equipment lists, performance guarantees
Work with Evoquas treatability laboratory to develop test plans for bench and pilot studies in order to validate process design and system performance projections or guarantees
Present proposed solutions at customer meetings
Develop project Handover Packages and turnover project documentation to the execution team
Provide process support to the operations team during project execution
Comply with Evoqua Procedures and Work Instructions applicable to the AE department.

Position Requirements
FORMAL EDUCATION:
Requires BS/BA degree in Engineering.
4+ yrs. of experience
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
Knowledge of water treatment processes
Basic understanding of financial principals related to proposals, costing, business outcome and risk mitigation
Basic understanding of contractual terms and conditions. Ability to develop solutions while mitigating business risk
Strong communications skills; able to effectively present advanced technical information in a customer setting
Leadership of and participation on multi-disciplinary project teams
Ability to work business processes and achieve goals with minimal direct supervision
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required
Experience in a variety of water treatment processes is preferred, for example:
Chemical precipitation, clarification, media filtration, carbon absorption, and specialty media(s).
Membrane treatment processes, including micro-filtration, ultra-filtration, nano-filtration, and reverse osmosis.
Ion exchange processes, such as softening and mixed bed deionization.
