Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Finance and Administration (DFA), the Senior Accountant isresponsible for all accounting and finance reporting functions.Primary Responsibilities:
Responsible for preparation and entering of general ledger journal entriesResponsible for preparation and entering of depositsPrepare billings to funders as assignedPrepare monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reports when needed to ensure that all reportingdeadlines are metEnsure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and proceduresWork closely with the DFA to process monthly, quarterly and year-end closePrepare financial and budget reports as assignedReconcile and maintain balance sheet accountsReconcile bank statements monthlyManage the salary range study every two years to begin in May of the revisiting yearIf not already, quickly become proficient with Sage MIP Accounting softwareIndependently manage the invoicing, collection, and tracking of fees grants anddonations, ensuringaccuracy and compliance with GAAPAssist in the preparation of monthly financial reports and variance analysis for review by theExecutive Director and Agency Operations CommitteeProvide input on the design and implementation of new processes, and oversee thecommunication of updated procedures to all staffInteract and maintain day-to-day communication with staff, directors,donors, board members,clients and volunteersAssist the DFA with annual audits, budget preparation, and other financial, accounting, andadministrative tasks as neededAssist at fundraising and training events when neededProvide quality customerservice to all internal and external customers of the agencyFollow agency procedures to ensure reporting of suspected child abuse and/or neglectParticipate in the attainment and retention of CCAA Quality Assurance AccreditationReact productively to change and handle all other work-related responsibilities as assignedQualifications:
