Schedule:1st Shift 6:00am-3:00pm or 7:00am-4:00pm (May include some weekends) About this role: Responsible for maintenance of research animal health, as directed by the attending veterinarian, through animal care duties. Your responsibilities will include: Observe PCSB safety practices. Clean all animal housing. Rinse the exercise area at the end of each day. Properly dispose of all waste. Disinfect each housing area once daily according to PCSB SOPs--to include floors, walls, and troughs. Rinse thoroughly following disinfection. Squeegee all housing areas after rinsing or disinfection to ensure rapid drying. Scrub floor hallways once daily. Feed each animal before noon daily, ensure that water is available free choice. Exercise animals in groups known to be compatible without commingling sexes. Communicate all animal health status issues to attending DVM and full-time veterinary technician. Follow all PCSB and Boston Scientific security policies during shifts. Stay current on and comply with SOPs, GLP regulations and other internal requirements. Restrain animals for Veterinary technicians during treatments and diagnostic testing.
