The University Of Iowa Department Of Anesthesia is seeking qualified anesthesiologists with interest and expertise in a variety of clinical areas to join our team. The Department of Anesthesia is seeking faculty members for appointment on the Clinical or Tenure Track at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank, depending on qualifications.

Generalist Anesthesiologist - Cardiothoracic Anesthesiologist - Obstetrical Anesthesiologist - Neurosurgical Anesthesiologist - Pediatric Anesthesiologist - Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist - Regional and Acute Pain Medicine - Transplant Anesthesiologist
Responsibilities Include:
Participating in team-based anesthesia care and personally providing anesthesia care
Serving as a member of an interdisciplinary team, collaborating for effective patient outcomes
Active participation in the academic activities of the Department and College of Medicine
Supervising students, residents, fellows, SRNA's and non-anesthesia rotators
Providing developmental feedback to those under supervision, verbally and in writing.
Preparing educational materials, leading and/or attending academic lectures and professional development events.
Demonstrated experience in promoting an inclusive team-based work environment.
Research activities are encouraged, though participation is not required for continued employment or promotion.

Education Requirement:
Qualified candidates must show successful completion of an approved residency program in anesthesiology.
Candidates must hold an MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be eligible for medical licensure in the state of Iowa.
Candidates must be board-certified in Anesthesiology (or non-US Board equivalent) or be in the certification process (pending completion of residency or fellowship). On occasion, individuals trained outside of the United States who are certified by an equivalent national certification group may be considered.
Certifications:
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification.
Desirable Qualifications:
Fellowship training in any of the subspecialty areas.
Demonstrated experience working effectively in a inclusive environment.
Interest in teaching and/or basic or clinical research.
