About the Opportunity
The National Incident Response Team (NIRT), a national service provider for the Federal Reserve System (FRS), provides effective and efficient national intrusion detection, incident response, security intelligence, threat assessment, and vulnerability assessment services for the FRS. NIRT’s mission is to play a leading role in the FRS’ efforts to protect its information systems against unauthorized use.
NIRT’s Detection Engineering (DE) team has an immediate opening for a motivated cyber professional to join as a Cybersecurity Analyst at the Senior level.
The mission of NIRT's DE team, is to gather security centric data and information and facilitate its use through the design, engineering, integration, implementation and support of tools and technology, to support NIRT's services and objectives as well as represent NIRT's interests in projects and initiatives within the FRS and Treasury. We focus on ensuring that the capabilities of NIRT's critical infrastructure remains relevant, and that it is continuously enhanced and evolved to meet new threats and evolving technological landscape.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead and support initiatives concerning researching, designing, creating, maintaining, and improving detection and response processes and capabilities, with a focus on data acquisition, transformation, and distribution. As a vital member of our team, you will be responsible for collaborating on efforts within both the cloud and on-premise environments, as well as other customer specific settings.
What You Will Do
Partner with National IT, NIRT and other partners to identify security-centric data and create automated processes to transform and deliver that data to and from our infrastructure.
Research plan, design, build and maintain solutions that facilitate, and augment the delivery of NIRT’s services.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of services.
Participate in cybersecurity related projects and tasks.
Coordinate activities of Bank staff and vendor support personnel in resolving platform issues.
Analyze and resolve technical and non-technical issues.
Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to inform system enhancements.
Proactively identify and make recommendations around process improvements.
Provide consultation, assistance, and guidance, internally and externally, regarding various aspects of the requirements, tools, technologies, and methods regarding NIRT’s detection ecosystem infrastructure, and related services.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, Systems Analysis, or a domain related field; or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
5+ years of combined IT, security, with a broad range of exposure to systems analysis, application development, systems administration.
Experience with data engineering concepts and challenges including data warehouse solutions, ETL, and distributed systems, as well as familiarity with and experience manipulating data in various formats, such as: avro, neo4j, json, cef, csv, w3c, pandas.
Experience with data querying languages. such as SQL, Spark, GraphQL, Gremlin, and Splunk SPL, for example.
Experience with cloud environments with a strong preference for AWS and Azure.
Experience with automation and DevOps practices in preferred- including Infrastructure-as-Code, code testing tools, CI/CD, configuration management/application deployment automation which leverage languages such as: Python, Terraform, Ansible, Java, Salt, Chef, Puppet.

The national hiring range for the Intermediate Cybersecurity Analyst- Detection Engineering is $87,800-$120,780 annually. The national hiring range for the Senior Cybersecurity Analyst- Detection Engineering is $107,100-$147,290 annually. For candidates in certain markets (Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Los Angeles, CA; New York City Metro Area, Philadelphia, PA; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA), the listed hiring and salary ranges may be adjusted based on your geographic location.
Salary offered will be based on the job responsibilities and the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience as defined in the job qualifications.
