This position is expected to begin Fall 2024 and will be a part of large cohort of new faculty joining the Bellevue College community.The World Languages Program is seeking qualified candidates to for a full-time, tenure-track position in American Sign Language (ASL). As a full-time faculty member in ASL, the successful candidate will demonstrate commitment to student success through teaching and learning excellence, including teaching three ASL elementary and/or intermediate courses per quarter while creating inclusive and equitable learning environments for a diverse student population. In addition, full time faculty are expected to advise students, assist in curriculum development, participate in college governance and initiatives, and maintain currency in their discipline. Faculty are under the general direction of the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs and are responsible primarily to the Dean of the Arts and Humanities Division. Full-time faculty teach in face-to-face settings and synchronous and asynchronous virtual settings, and are expected to deliver in-person classes or a combination of in-person and virtual classes. Bellevue College's ASL program is committed to on-ground language instruction and, therefore, looking for faculty who will be available to teach primarily in-person.Pay, Benefits & Work SchedulePosition Salary Range: $77,250.30/year - $108,344.14/yearAnnual salary is based on a 176-day contract with a minimum of $77,250.30; beginning salary will be determined by the assessment of the candidate's education and related experience. New hires start no higher than $82,831.36 unless exceptional circumstances prevail. Certain positions may also be eligible for assignment/project-based additional compensation, including a High Demand Stipend up to $8,350 annually, prorated based on the discipline and duration of the assignment.
