Why this job: Our TEP Alumni Community of over 1,200 strong attends over 150 different high schools across New York City and a few other U.S. States, which makes it difficult to share and obtain information from alumni. The Alumni Engagement Program is working to increase alumni participation and have a better sense for what alumni need most to create programming that is both exciting and useful. 　　Position Overview:

　　The Social Chair position is essential to the alumni program’s development and requires great communication and leadership skills. Social Chairs are working to confirm important alumni contact information and building long-lasting connections with alumni. The Social Chair is expected to embody TEP’s Alumni Program’s vision and display grit and resilience throughout the projects assigned to them. The position is best suited for alumni who are currently in high school and will be in high school next year as well. 

　　Note: Work hours would be determined based on the hire's school schedule and TEP’s hours of operation 8 am to 6:30 pm, Monday through Friday. 

　　Position Responsibilities:

　　Maintain a line of communication with alumni through calls, texts, and emails Gather and update important alumni contact information  Brainstorm academic and social programs to increase alumni engagement Support with Social Media campaigns on Instagram and TikTok Create flyers, surveys, and other supporting documents for marketing Plan and coordinate fun events that will bring many alumni back to TEP   Be an ambassador for TEP’s Alumni Office and varied initiatives Qualifications:

　　Must be able to commit at least 6 hours a week from August 1, 2023 -  June 30, 2024  Must be a TEP alumna/us (aka a TEP graduate!) and a current junior or senior in high school Comfortable speaking with others over the phone, via email and in person You are comfortable and knowledgeable on the latest social media trends  You are a wizard at Google Docs, Sheets and Presentations Have strong attention to detail  Passionate about helping others and advocating for TEP’s Alumni Office

　　NOTE: In adherence with Department of Health guidelines, all charter school staff is required to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination. To request a medical accommodation from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement, supporting documentation from a qualified medical professional must be provided and is subject to review and approval by the school.

　　Accountability: Social Chair will report directly to TEP’s Senior Director of Alumni Engagement, Kathryn McKenna.

　　Compensation: $15/hour

　　Calls and Voicemails: Part of your role will be making calls to support program recruitment and event attendance. Write a call script to help recruit for Regents Prep at TEP, an initiative launched to help alumni who have failed or fear failing their regents. Make sure to introduce yourself, provide the program details and one reason they should attend prep.
