Description Robert Half is looking for a Senior Accountant for a permanent opportunity in the TROY, Michigan area. As a Senior Accountant, you will be required to perform financial statement preparation and consolidation, account analysis and reconciliations, cash flow analysis, budgets and forecasting, audit preparation, and internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting. What you get to do every single day
Ensure corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls are followed when working with business partners and be able to provide support on special requests
Formulate Balance Sheet account reconciliations
Assemble monthly consolidated P& L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management reporting
Adherence to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
Review financial information such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc. and present analysis in a clear manner
Apply oneself to various department-wide initiatives
Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Administer Ad-hoc projects as necessary
Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP Requirements - Prior work done in public accounting is desired
Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
Attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
3-5 years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
Experience with Financial Statement
Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings
Analyze Financial Statements experience preferred
Deep understanding of Financial Close Process
Sage Timberline experience preferred
SEC reporting and SOX compliance is a plus
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
Strong time management skills preferred
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
Corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems experience a plus
