Responsibilities
Provide on-site engineering, analytical and technical support to the U.S. Army Aviation Engineering Directorate for the MH-60M Special Operations Aircraft.
Define and process engineering airworthiness qualification requirements and data, airworthiness releases, aircraft integration requirements and data, software requirements and data and equipment substantiations.
Review engineering change proposals and process maintenance engineer calls.
Review modification work order, special mission equipment and product improvement procedures.
Assist in the creation of aviation safety messages.
Review publication change requests resulting from U.S. Army safety messages, engineering directives and 160th SOAR DA Form 2028 submittals.
Attend tabletop reviews and validation/verification of flight and maintenance publications.
Verify standards for technical publications in accordance with AR 25-30, DA Pam 25-40, MIL-STD 38784, MIL STD 40051B and MIL-PRF-63029M.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelors of Science degree in STEM field from an accredited institution.
6+ years relevant experience.
Participates in all phases of development by providing high-level functional analysis, design, integration, documentation, and implementation advice on complex problems, which require extensive knowledge of the related technical subject matter for effective implementation.
Provides engineering support, for multiple US aircraft including the airframe, mechanical, electronic/electrical/electro-optical systems/components, software, and cybersecurity.
Support the integration of user requirements into technical objectives pursuant to the design, development, airworthiness qualification and substantiation, safety of flight, field support, and life cycle management of aircraft and associated subsystems.
Support customers by identifying and/or implementing cost-effective solutions to complex technical problems through the utilization and application of multi-functional engineering principles, analyses and coordination activities.
Coordinate Systems Engineering efforts across multiple functional disciplines within AED as well as the original equipment manufacturer (OEM), modification facility engineering activities, program management office, and the end users.
Provide technical expertise to the airworthiness qualification for standard configurations and qualification for alterations/modifications to standard configurations.
Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, interfacing, integration, testing, and verification and validation of complex hardware/software systems.
U.S. Citizenship with an Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain/maintain security clearance required.
Physical Description
Employees in these positions will function in a standard office/cubical setting using standard office equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers and video equipment; utilize computer software and electronic testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; may travel occasionally for assigned work.
