  THE POSITION

  DESCRIPTION OF WORK

  This role requires you to possess strong interviewing and crisis intervention skills for conducting field visits to assess the level of care needed by the consumer. These visits can be in community cases or long-term care settings. Prioritizing tasks is important, but flexibility is also necessary to respond to emergency situations. You should be familiar with community support services and have good relationships with consumers, outside agencies, the public, and colleagues. Additionally, you will assist walk-in consumers with form completion and handle administrative tasks such as reports, travel vouchers, and participation in meetings and trainings.

  Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  Full-time employment

  Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

  Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

  QUALIFICATIONS

  Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  Six months as an Aging Care Manager 1 or a County Caseworker 1;or

  Successful completion of the County Social Casework Intern program;or

  Six months of professional human services or nursing experience; and a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, behavioral sciences, human services, or a closely related field;or

  An equivalent combination of experience and training.

  Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Carbon, Columbia, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Schuylkill, Sullivan, or Wyoming counties. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
