Position Summary
This position is responsible for communicating standards of excellence in thedaily work assignments of the assigned team to meet safe production asoutlined by Management. The Plant Lead will communicate standards throughstated goals, daily interactions, team meetings, providing input onemployee performance evaluations, and recommending disciplinary actions.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms standard office duties, plant duties, and equipment repairs andoperates mobile equipment.Establishes and maintains effective communications within all areas ofoperationPerforms regular inspections for safety, housekeeping, and mechanicalissues in all areas of the operationImplements and applies all safety rules, regulations, and procedures ofmine and property as set forth by federal, state, and local agencies andpolicies, as well as company guidelines and safety standardsWorks closely with the Plant Manager/ Foreman to ensure implementation ofscheduled maintenance on all equipmentCompletes annual performance evaluations on team membersParticipates in plant safety committeeCompletes daily production, safety, and maintenance reports accuratelyMaintains plant housekeeping and appearance standards and product quality asestablished.Aides in the training of co-workers as neededPerforms other duties as assigned by the supervisorWilling to cross-train in different areas of productionKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAble to work cooperatively with others toward a shared goal, contributeactively to the team efforts, and possess a positive attitude in workingwith others as a teamPossess effective coordination and communication skillsPossess strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge and skillsAble to handle multiple projects simultaneously and to perform duties withminimal supervisionAble to work varying shifts as needed, outdoors, in varying weather conditionsAble to read and interpret gauges/dials and make competent decisions relatedto processing equipmentWorking knowledge of team-based managementPossess basic computer skills & able to learn new softwareAble to adhere to MSHA guidelines and plant safety rules and regulationsAble to ensure a safe work environment by prioritizing safety, thenquality, followed by productionMinimum Education and ExperienceHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience to perform theresponsibilities associated with this position.Three (3) years of experience in building materials, mining, oraggregates industryMinimum of 1 year of supervisory or progressive leadership experienceWORKING CONDITIONS
All duties require outside assignments and periods of work in all weatherconditions, cold, wet, or dry, and dusty. Must be able to work inareas where noise levels are up to 85 dbs.
