Preference in certification may be given to successful candidates who are residents of the municipality for one month prior to the date of certification.DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position is responsible for overseeing the operation of a congregate meal site. The work includes supervising meal service, providing a safe and stimulating environment for the participant; and maintaining routine records. The incumbent assesses needs, plans, develops implements and evaluates educational programs, and prepares and submits a variety of documentation. The work is performed under direct supervision of the Deputy Director, Area Agency on Aging- Nutrition Services. Supervision is exercised over volunteers and employees. Does related work as required.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:(a)Graduation from a regionally accredited college or university or one accredited by the New York State Board of Regents to grant degrees with an Associate’s Degree or higher in human services or related field; OR(b)Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma and two (2) years of experience providing services to individuals in a human services field; OR(c)And equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (a) and (b).SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license is required.
