CHIEF INVESTIGATOR
Arkansas Attorney General Tim Griffin is seeking to hire an experienced certified law enforcement agent to lead agents and investigators in the Medicaid Fraud Division (MFD). The Medicaid Fraud Division is unique in that it can prosecute both criminal and civil cases, including Medicaid fraud, civil false claims, abuse, neglect, exploitation of vulnerable persons, and ancillary charges discovered during or arising out of investigations. The team consists of special prosecutors, civil attorneys, law enforcement agents, investigators, nurses, and financial experts. The Chief Investigator is primarily responsible for supervising the work of the assigned agents and investigators and answers directly to the Deputy Attorney General for the MFD.
Essential job functions include:
Supervising MFD law enforcement agents and investigators
Ensuring compliance with all office policies by agents and investigators
Assigning cases
Working with outside State and Federal agencies
Maintaining working knowledge of the Medicaid Program
Compiling data into reports
Providing guidance in planning and conducting both civil and criminal investigations related to Medicaid provider fraud, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and civil false claims
Approving all completed Investigative Reports for Prosecution Analysis prepared by the agents and investigators
Evaluating direct reports annually
The successful candidate will:
Be a certified Arkansas law enforcement officer
Have a formal equivalent of a bachelor’s degree
Have a minimum of 10 years of experience in criminal investigations
Have a minimum of five years management or supervisory experience
Have knowledge of word processing and electronic spreadsheet applications
Be skilled in effective oral and written communication, researching, and interpreting rules and regulations and applying investigative techniques and procedures to assigned cases
Be able to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback and work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment

Position Information
Summary
The Chief Investigator in the MFCU is a certified law enforcement agent. Chief Investigator shall investigate Medicaid Fraud cases and/or alleged endangered adult abuse and neglect cases under the direct guidance and supervision of the Deputy Attorney General.

Dimensions
Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA. Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs. Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 20%. Ability to successfully complete and pass the administered physical and drug screen exams.
