Specifically, the Painter I is responsible for all job activities required to support production processes. These activities include but are not limited to: working primarily in the paint room(s), set-up and clean-up of painting equipment and proficient quality finishing. The individual may prep or provide other functions in other plant areas as well. Employee is responsible for visually inspecting parts.Other responsibilities:Prep, clean, grind, sand and fill steel productsMixing, matching, and applying paint to various surfaces, completing touchups, and coordinating large painting projectsMoving parts with low bar through the processMaintains paint and coating suppliesAdjusts sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray to accomplish desired finishFixing and re-painting when requiredFollows all plant safety guidelines, practices and procedures. Also, be aware of activity in the work surroundings and maintain a clean and safe work areaProperly use personal protective equipment when requiredMaintain regular attendance - have reliable means of transportationPerform other tasks as assignedQualificationsPrior manufacturing experience is highly preferred. Any technical or vocational education/training in relation to skills listed below is also desirable.Ability to read and understand blueprints is desirableForklifts and Overhead crane experience preferred (in-house training available)Must be able to pass a background check and pre employment drug testTeam player - must be able to work with othersMust have and maintain a high sense of urgency to meet and exceed all production goalsAttentive to detail watching for material defects and any quality issuesPhysically capable of standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching and twisting throughout shiftCapable of repetitively lifting 25-50 lbs.Candidates must be flexible to work overtime as needed, which may include weekends and/or holidaysWo
