All shifts are as follows: 1st shift (Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.), 2nd shift (Monday - Friday, 2:00 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.), 3rd shift (Sunday - Friday, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.)Job SummaryEmployees in this position will use a variety of methods to polish parts including the use of wheel lathes, Dynafiles, and hand tools to achieve customer driven visual requirements, most often to achieve a grain finish appearance. They will perform operations in accordance with Military and OEM specifications. This role may be required to join the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program*.*FAA DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requires an initial pre-employment drug test including a screen for THC, subject to quarterly Drug & BAT testing.ResponsibilitiesWill work with the Polish Operator Lead and Polish Operator Trainees to help prepare and process parts using a variety of polishing techniques.Work closely with Experienced Polish Operator Lead and Department Leads to complete work and prioritize tasks.Will follow shop traveler, technique card, customer Purchase Orders, and instructions from experienced Operators and Department Leads.Review and identify internal paperwork so as to ensure all previous operations were completed, notifying Production Supervisor and Quality Assurance team of any processing errors.Prepare Parts prior to operations including mechanical or chemical cleaning.Prepare parts as called out in Purchase Orders and Tech Cards.Perform inspection, measuring, and testing or part surfaces as required.Maintain paint guns and paint booths ensuring cleanliness at the close of shifts.Perform pre and post cleaning surface finish requirements.Follow Quality Assurance requirements.Follow safety precautions as trained.Other duties as assigned.QualificationsAbility to wear an N95 respirator as needed. *Fit Test is RequiredMust have a regular and dependable attendance record.Ability to Read/Write Communicate in English with other employees, Customers, and auditors.Must be authorized to work in the U.S. An export license will be required to work in all areas of the facility.Education/Previous Experience Requirements1-2 years in a manufacturing environment a plus.Essential Mental/Physical DemandsDOL Categories: Very Heavy for OperatorsAbility to lift occasionally: (floor to knee) 114 lbs., (waist to waist) 63 lbs., (floor, knee, to waist) 75 lbs., (waist to shoulder) 30 lbs.Ability to carry 63 lbs. occasionallyAbility to push/pull 59 lbs. occasionallyAbility to stand and walk frequentlyAbility to sit occasionallyAbility to reach from the should and overhead occasionally and from the waist frequentlyAbility to bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, crawl occasionallyAbility to climb stairs and ladders occasionallyAbility to push/pull frequentlyAbility to pivot, twist, pinch occasionallyAbility to grasp frequentlyAbility to see/hear/feel constantly - hearing protection required when working in the areaOccasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and fumes from metal finishing chemicals.
