Are you the type of person who focuses on the customer and excels at problem solving, quality planning, and influencing action? In this role you will lead our Advanced Quality activities during new product development. By ensuring clear goals and requirements are met, you will improve the dealer and customer experience with Vermeer products. This position will work with product development teams, suppliers, and manufacturing. This role is critical to identifying quality risks before they become a problem - implementing mitigation and control plans to provide predictable quality performance during production. We're looking for a strong customer advocate and strong collaborator with a background in advanced quality, quality management, and new product development.
What You'll Do
Serve as the quality lead for new product development project teams.
Support project core teams to set quality goals, identify and mitigate risks, and establish quality deliverables to support project goals and smooth product launches.
Lead the execution of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) within new product development projects. This includes
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)/Process Failure Mode and Analysis (PFMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Ensure new products meet quality objectives at launch and during early production.
Coordinate with other quality leaders and other peer function leadership to ensure quality objectives and requirements are met.
Lead, grow, and develop a team of Advanced Quality Engineers.
What We're Looking For
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Quality Management, Product Support, Engineering or Manufacturing.
Certification(s) through American Society for Quality (ASQ) preferred.
Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability lead, coach, and develop teams.
Knowledge in the areas of Engineering, Service, Manufacturing, Supply Management, or Quality.
Knowledge of basic quality tools and techniques such as APQP, Five Core Quality Tools, Statistical Process Control methods and Process Capability Index (CPK).
Experience using and/or implementing lean manufacturing principles and using Lean Sigma/Six Sigma methodology to improve quality.
Demonstrated troubleshooting skills and experience conducting root cause analysis. FMEA analyses and 8D Problem Solving experience is preferred.
Travel- Occasional travel is expected of this position.
Work Location
ONSITE: A team member's day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
