Here, you will make an impact by:Leads formulation changes including raw material substitutions, new product commercialization programs and cost reduction projectsImplements product standards, product changes, new productsDetermines product robustness, initial manufacturing capability, potential for new intellectual propertyTakes ownership to resolve product quality issues including implementation of future preventionsMaintain awareness of current safety policies, regulatory affairs, product responsibility, toxicology, environmental issuesLeads test method development and documentation to ensure products meeting customer CTQsProvides technical input to Business team and technical reports on key activitiesYour Skills and ExpertiseTo set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:Bachelors degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited institutionMinumum of one (1) years of experience in a private, public, government or military environment in one or more of the following areas: new product introduction, project engineering, product engineering, product development, and/or research laboratory supporting a chemistry-based product lineAdditional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:Master's degree or higher in Engineering, Chemistry or Materials Science based curriculumTwo (2) years of product commercialization or project leadership experience in a private, public, government or military environmentKnowledge of industrial solvents, resin chemistry, surfactants, emulsion, viscosity, HLB (Hydrophile-Lipophile Balance) System and/or mineral technologiesExperience in liquid formulation manufacturing and scale up, translating voice of customer/voice of market (VOC/VOM) into product specifications, new product introduction (NPI) project leadership and/or broader project leadershipSkills include; Product and process understanding using appropriate tools (Minitab, statistics, scale up experience) NPI tools, sound formulation/optimization, knowledge and expertise in adhesive chemistries, abrasives, testing and customer applicationsSelf-starter with experience with project managementWork location:Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to St. Paul, MN at least 3-4 days per week)Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/internationalRelocation Assistance: May be authorizedMust be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).Supporting Your Well-being3M offers many programs to help you live your best life both physically and financially.
