Job Title: Adolescent Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist (Entry – Intermediate Level)
Position: #00635671 – Requisition: #32425
Job Summary:
This is an exciting opportunity to work with one of the leading adolescent substance use treatment programs in Colorado. Synergy, the adolescent component of Addiction Research and Treatment Services, at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Department of Psychiatry seeks to fill a full-time (1.0 FTE) Adolescent Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist position in an office-based substance use treatment program for adolescents. The outpatient therapist will provide office based individual therapy, group therapy and family therapy to adolescents who struggle with substance use and co-occurring mental health issues. Utilizing evidenced based models such as Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), the therapist will work with the adolescent and their parents to prevent higher levels of care and further involvement in the juvenile justice system. In addition, the outpatient therapist will be trained in other evidenced-based group-based models, such as Seeking Safety and DBT groups, and deliver these models to youth. The therapist will provide care coordination with other professionals involved with the youth, such as Human Services caseworkers, probation officers, GAL's, etc. Urinalysis screens are an essential component of substance use treatment; therefore, this position also requires administering UA's to clients.
This is an excellent opportunity to help with Synergy's expansion efforts to reach and serve more youth. In addition, it is an excellent opportunity to be trained in various evidence-based treatment models.
Synergy's main offices are located on the Ft. Logan campus; however, Synergy has a satellite office at the Family Resource Pavilion (FRP) located at 9700 E. Easter Lane in Centennial. This position could potentially work out of both locations. In addition, Synergy is working to create community partnerships in order to reach more teens in need, therefore the goal would be also to deliver group therapy in other adolescent community locations, such as The Center, in order to reach more teens.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individual therapy and family therapy to a caseload of up to 25 clients.
Deliver evidenced-based group therapy for adolescents.
Participate in weekend on-call phone support rotation, which occurs once every 2 months.
Provide clinical evaluations and/or intake pre-screenings to assess client qualifications and individual treatment needs and provide appropriate treatment recommendations.
Complete clinical documentation in our electronic health record for all clients.
Work Location:
Hybrid – this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule. Most of the direct clinical work will be in-person at either Ft Logan, FRP, or a partner site. However, some telehealth work will occur and opportunities for remote work on clinical documentation.
Why Join Us:
This is an incredible opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team of therapists (LPCC & LSW), supervisors (LCSW, LPC, LAC), and psychiatrists. The team works collaboratively and closely to provide comprehensive evaluations, psychiatric evaluations, ongoing substance use and mental health treatment and referrals as necessary. The team is committed to helping adolescents and their families create positive changes, prevent out of home placement, reduce involvement in the criminal justice system and most importantly, reduce morbidity and mortality.
Synergy/ARTS will provide training in the evidenced-based group models. Our passion for recovery is second to none and we strive to offer the best treatment and long-term success. This is an autonomous position with opportunities to work remotely and allowing for some flexibility within your schedule.
