  Position Summary

  SUNY Geneseo and the Office of Admissions seek a temporary Admissions Transfer Specialist. Responsibilities for this position include actively recruiting, enrolling, and counseling prospective transfer students. Under direct supervision of the Associate Director of Transfer Admissions, this position will also support operations for transfer credit evaluation and articulation review to build upon Geneseo’s transfer partnerships and 2+2 agreements. Activities include, but are not limited to: effective correspondence with prospective transfer students and other constituents including written and verbal communication, interviewing, and group presentations; travel; including community college visits, and regional presentations; event planning; application assessment; representing the College and department at on and off-campus events; leading on-campus special group visits and assisting with various projects in the office.

  Required Qualifications

  Bachelor’s Degree by time of appointment

  Demonstrated previous experience in higher education

  Must demonstrate commitment and ability to work effectively with a diverse group of students, faculty, staff, and constituents supporting campus and department missions.

  Function 1: Prospective Student Correspondence

  Correspondence with prospective transfer students and other constituents including written and verbal communication. Answer questions about the process for applying, documents needed to complete the application process. Contact applicants via phone, email, and host virtual meetings and document/track prospect engagement through Slate CRM .

  Function 2: On-campus and Virtual Programs

  In-person and virtual recruitment that includes college fairs and regional presentations, transfer information sessions and special group visits with community college partners and CBOs.

  Application review. Check on individual transfer student applications to assist students with their specific needs and conduct targeted outreach to applicants who have not completed the application process..

  Manage spreadsheets and datasets of transfer prospects and applicant engagement as they move through the enrollment funnel, taking into account applicable transfer pipelines, such as Guaranteed Transfer students, SUNY Seamless transfers, and SUNY Transfer Match populations
