Job Summary
Under minimal supervision, the Senior Contract Administrator is responsiblefor protecting Denver Health interests relating to the business of Hospitalreviewing and negotiating contracts, agreements and sub agreements withoutside sources (e.g. federal funding agencies, industry, otheruniversities and foundations collectively, sponsors); recognizing andaddressing federal and Hospital compliance issues; determining that acontract is ready for signature; and providing input and guidance oncontract interpretation and administration throughout the contract term.
Essential Functions:
Contract Review* Review and negotiate contracts, grants, subcontracts, and otheragreements with external sponsors and partners in accordance withinstitutional policies and procedures, federal and state regulations, andsponsor requirements.* Handle more complex contracts and resulting negotiations and demonstrate anunderstanding of the field of Research Administration sufficient to serve as apoint of contact for guidance to other staff members and customers.* Independently analyze information to identify issues and risks, defineproblems, craft alternative language as necessary and formulate and deliverresolutions.* Provide contract review guidance to the SPARO Contract Administrator. (40%)Training* Provide guidance and assistance to faculty and staff on contractualmatters, such as terms and conditions, intellectual property,compliance, risk management, and budgeting.* Maintain and update contract templates with current regulatory requirements.(10%)Subrecipient Monitoring* Monitor subrecipients, conduct risk assessments, and implementSubrecipient Monitoring Plans as necessary.* Maintain all FFATA reporting. (10%)Data Monitoring, Reporting, and Analytics* Monitors existing contracts.* Provide consistent and accurate verbal and written communications regardingcontract status.* Maintain contract management database, template database, maintainingupdated terms and conditions for contracts to be utilized to ensure compliantcontracts.* Performs Quality Assurance/Quality Improvement/Data Integrity Reviews.* Establishes a systematic approach to promoting efficiency and effectiveness.* Establishes follow-up systems to monitor work progress.* Monitor and identify problems with contract submissions and communicateissues with individuals or leadership, as appropriate, to resolve (20%)Policy and Practice* Serves in a liaison capacity between departmental staff, supplier, andSPARO team involved in the contract submission and approval process.* Utilizes a variety of software packages, including word processing,spreadsheet, database, including Word and Excel, and Infor.* Maintains effective working relationships with internal and externalcustomers.* Revises existing procedures or develops new ones to increase efficiency ofcontract processing.* Remains competent and current through self-directed professional reading,developing professional contacts with colleagues, attending professionaldevelopment courses, especially those offered by professional societies andfederal agencies, attending training and/or courses as directed by supervisor.* Assists with onboarding and training process for new hire Contract Analystsand Requestors as needed for departmental success. Education:
High School or Diploma Required
Work Experience:
Five to seven years' experience in legal setting or central grant andcontract office with at least 4 of those year prior translatable workexperience (contract formation, negotiation, or researchadministration). Required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
