What Your Job Will Be Like:
Do you want to join a dynamic team that solves challenging issues for our nation's security? Are you ready to work in a fast-paced environment with constant changing priorities? If so, you could be the Administrative Support Specialist (Limited Term Employee) we are seeking to support Sandia's Security Incident Management Program (SIMP) Team! On any given day, you may be called on to:
Gather, collect, record, track, and verify data and information from multiple sources and reconcile report discrepancies.Compile, review data to generate reports, statistics, timelines, tables, graphs, review status of projects for presentations.Generate weekly, monthly, and special request reports for line management, Sandia Site Office, and DOE Headquarters.Work with classified information/matter daily; review and close classified case files and provide administrative support to inquiry officials.Participate in and support workflow improvements; provide procurement support to the department.Provide record keeping in multiple databases: SIMPTrack II, SSIMS, and EIMS.Ensure compliance with federal and corporate requirements and work with records administration.Maintain all case records in compliance with DOE Directives and ensure all data has integrity and are securely maintained.Utilize strong administrative and computer skills to assist SIMP in meeting Members of the Workforce (MOW) demands.Consistently complete job assignments with extreme attention to detail.Work independently and within a team environment to contribute, plan, and complete team initiatives.Demonstrate flexibility in supporting diverse and evolving activities.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite.
Qualifications We Require:
High School Diploma plus five (5) or more years of administrative support experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to obtain and maintain an active DOE Q-level security clearance.
Qualifications We Desire:
General knowledge of various Security programs.General knowledge of assessments, analysis and process improvement methodologies.Experience using DOE/NNSA and SNL databases related to security.Excellent customer service skills to include diplomacy, patience, courtesy, empathy, friendliness, positive attitude, etc.Successfully support group decisions, being tactful and professional, soliciting opinions from customers and coworkers, and recognizing others' concerns and feelings; to include constant communication with other team members about day-to-day operations.Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, to include the ability to operate in a Windows environment applying the basic suite of software.Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure meeting tight deadlines.Follow detailed procedures and ensure accuracy in documentation and data; concentrated on routine work details and organize and maintain a system of records.Active DOE or DoD clearance.
About Our Team:
Sandia's Security Incident Management Program (SIMP) conducts official inquiries into allegations of security incidents as defined by DOE. Results of completed inquiries establish facts, culpability, and circumstances related to security incidents and concerns. SIMP implements containment and/or mitigation actions as necessary to protect national security interests. SIMP compiles data related to incidents of security concern and provides formal reports to internal and external customers.

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. If you hold more than one citizenship (i.e., of the U.S. and another country), your ability to obtain a security clearance may be impacted.

NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
Position Information:
This Limited Term Employee (LTE) position is a temporary position for one year term, which may be renewed at Sandia's discretion up to a maximum of seven years.
Individuals in LTE positions may bid on regular Sandia positions as internal candidates, and in some cases may be converted to regular career positions during their term if warranted by ongoing operational needs, continuing availability of funds, and satisfactory job performance.
