Visit www.atf.gov Responsibilities This position is located under the Office of Field Operations in Tampa, Florida. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Administrative Support Assistant to the Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC) and/or division office manager in the Tampa Field Division. In that capacity, the incumbent assists with the operation and coordination of all administrative and office functions. As a Administrative Support Assistant, GS-0301-09, your typical work assignments may include: Receives telephone calls and high-ranking visitors from ATF Headquarters and other Federal, State, and local law enforcement communities, including higher-level Department of Justice(DOJ) personnel. Serves as primary assistant to the ASAC and/or division office manager and as such, performs a wide variety of office management and administration duties to ensure smooth and efficient operation of the office. Keeps manager advised of schedule sufficiently in advance of scheduled activity by either personal presentation of information and material or by arranging for such briefings by subordinate staffs. Utilizes electronic mail and calendaring systems, as well as various software packages to prepare reports and briefings, all forms of correspondence, messages, statistical reports, etc., in draft and final versions for public delivery and/or publication. Obtains information, documents, files, and other material for use in phone calls, meetings, and speeches; and utilizes knowledge of office activities and supervisor's programs to locate information or material, often in response to only general instructions. Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses. The qualification requirements listed below must be met by the closing date of the announcement. This is a non-bargaining unit position. MOBILITY PLAN: New employees hired pursuant to this vacancy announcement must sign a mobility agreement. The purpose of ATF's mobility policy is to enhance career development and progression, and achieve mission and business effectiveness. To accomplish these objectives, the mobility plan will facilitate the movement of employees through special short-term assignments or permanent reassignments throughout the Bureau. Applicants who decline to sign a mobility agreement, as required, will be removed from the hiring process. Key Requirements: Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. Suitable for Federal employment determined by background investigation. Must be registered or exempt from the Selective Service. Qualifications To qualify for GS-09, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-07. Additional Conditions of Employment: GS-09 - You qualify if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal, State, or Local government or equivalent public or private sector experience, performing the following duties: Manage calendars for management, composing correspondence and recurring reports, and establish and maintain files and records. Receives telephone calls and high-ranking visitors from ATF Headquarters and/or other Federal, State, and local law enforcement communities, including higher-level Department of Justice (DOJ) personnel. Uses the latest office automation systems (hardware and software) such as word processing and other office systems in the performance of assigned duties such as preparing letters, memorandum, and reports. OR Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. Graduate level education must demonstrate the competencies necessary to do the work of the position, examples of qualifying fields include Criminal Justice, Psychology, Homeland Security, etc. (MUST SUBMIT TRANSCRIPTS). OR A combination of graduate education and experience. This will be calculated using your résumé and unofficial transcripts or a list of courses/course hours submitted with your application.
