About Outreach Coordinator

  Outreach CoordinatorPart-time (24-28 hours/week).Weekday shifts and occasional weekday evenings and weekends for planned events.Sakakawea Medical Center is looking for anOutreach Coordinator. This individual must have good moral character, excellent organizational skills, good communication skills, and high-quality writing skills. Must possess leadership ability and the willingness to cooperate with other departments. Must be able to meet deadlines, handle several projects at once, and organize and execute public events. Must exhibit a professional appearance and maintain a high degree of responsibility for confidential matters. Must possess excellent computer skills and familiarity with basic programs, as well as the ability to learn new software programs. Ability to adapt to flexible hours and manage multiple projects. Must be able to work with a high degree of independence.

  The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for organizing and coordinating all events at Sakakawea Medical Center (SMC) and Coal Country Community Health Center (CCHC). The Outreach Coordinator will also serve as the primary liaison for each organization's Foundation Board. Will work closely with the CCCHC/SMC Director of Marketing and other staff at both organizations to ensure the successful planning and completion of all events.

  RequirementsMust be a high school graduate or equivalent. Experience working in public relations, outreach, or event coordination is preferred.Will work closely with the CCCHC/SMC Director of Marketing and office will be located at CCCHC Beulah Clinic.

  SummaryEssential Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities

  Develops, coordinates, and implements various activities, events, and functions to market health-related promotions at both organizations. This includes but is not limited to Annual Wellness Visits, Youth Wellness Exams, Preventive Screenings, Tobacco Cessation, Recovery Month, Women's World of Wellness, and Mammo Marathon. The Outreach Coordinator will lead the charge on planning for these events/promotions, working with other staff members involved, overseeing logistics for the events, and facilitating the procurement and distribution of any promotional merchandise/giveaways.Serves as the lead to coordinate various staff recognition efforts at both organizations. Includes leading planning efforts and involving other staff as appropriate, organizing activities, communicating with staff, and coordinating any food, treats, or giveaways. Internal events include but are not limited to Hospital Week, National Health Center Week, Rural Health Day, special staff lunches/treats, retirement celebrations, employee recognition party, employee Christmas gifts, and various recognition weeks for providers.Serves as the lead to coordinate both organization's involvement and presence at various community events with the goal of ensuring our organization's support of community events. This includes but is not limited to, community parades, Trunk-or-Treat, and other events deemed appropriate. Will lead the charge on planning for these events, working with other staff members involved, facilitating the procurement and distribution of any promotional items/giveaways, and communicating opportunities to volunteer to staff. Will also assist in a support role for other community events to ensure our organizations support for community events. This may include Auxiliary Turkey Dinner, local blood drives, chamber-sponsored events, and others deemed appropriate.Serves as the primary liaison for the SMC and CCCHC Foundation. Includes planning meetings, completing agenda development and minutes, follow-up with Foundation Board Members and staff, planning and organizing annual fundraising events and campaigns, including but not limited to the Annual Fund Drive, Foundation Golf Tournament, Giving Hearts Day, and any other avenues the Foundation Boards decide to pursue.Responsible for lanning, logistics, and coordination of the SMC Foundation social. Will lead the charge on planning for this event, working with other staff members, ensuring donors are invited, and coordinating any food and drinks served.Assists with the planning and coordination of the SMC Annual Meeting.Assist Foundations with the development of strategies to encourage donations and outreach.Collaborates with CCCHC/SMC Director of Marketing to coordinate the grant request, planning, and logistics of the annual Scrubs Camp. Will work with the schools, other participating organizations, staff, and volunteers to oversee the coordination and successful completion of this event.Responsible for coordinating, overseeing, and implementing a community health needs assessment (CHNA) in collaboration with department staff, community stakeholders, elected officials, and community healthcare partners. Will work to develop the survey, coordinate meetings, communicate with all involved, and update the CHNA report.Assists the CCCHC/SMC Director of Marketing with various marketing and advertising projects as needed. Tasks may include assisting with marketing needs, proofreading, coordination with staff, and other duties as requested.Coordinates the SMC Annual Giving Tree project. Involves other staff to assist as needed.Ensures positive customer relations when dealing with the public, patients, employees, and managers.Other Duties

  Research grants and government programs that may provide financial assistance to the organizations. Complete grant applications in a timely and professional manner. Prepare reports of completed grant projects and ensure that all matters agreed in subcontract are abided by and all monies have been received, filed, and documented.Serves on community boards and hospital committees as appropriate.Provide support to the SMC Auxiliary.Serves as a committee member on the Hospice Fundraising Committee and the Healthcare Excellence Committee, assisting as needed.Recruits and supervises volunteers when needed for events.Additional NotesThis job description does not reflect all duties that may be assigned to this position.
